Practice of Seeing the Self/Practice of Remembering the Self
This physical installation revisits the 2005 video work, The Practice of Seeing the Self, to re-examine the interplay between presence and absence across two places and explore the evolution of memory over time. Twenty years later, what was once a plain observation of presence has become more nuanced—shaped by atmosphere, surroundings, and sensory details that sharpen the act of remembering. Yet memory and the present cannot coexist fully; they remain inherently separate. This tension is visualized through two videos placed on opposite sides of a box, embodying the conceptual divide and inviting reflection on the shifting nature of memory and presence.
